I haven’t used my physical, paper bullet journal since February of 2020. There are a lot of reasons for that. I won’t go into them, because if you live in the U.S. or aren’t shut away from the news, you no doubt will have some idea and empathy as to why. So the first week of August I did the bare minimum to get myself back into it. I made two pages. One was a mind dump of ideas and random thoughts about what the house needs, what I could do for paintings, what sort of prints I might try and so on. The other page is just a, well, bullet list with August dates noting things I did, things I didn’t get to, and small memorable moments that reminded me that there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.
I found a poem that resonated with me. That poem lead to an idea and that idea lead to Septembers bullet journal cover and monthly calendar being created and finished. I enjoy having a layout done before the month starts as I don’t have to hem and haw about choosing one.
I have been practicing with my watercolors, but haven’t added anything new to my Redbubble shop, or decided whether to re-activate my Woocommerce shop here, as I feel like with so many suffering from COVID, whether ill or financially sinking, profiting at this time feels off. At the rate things are going however, I may have to. I’d like to make Christmas happen this year for random people whom I feel won’t be able to afford it.
I hope you are coping as best as you can. I was going to say ‘well,’ but I am not sure if that’s always possible these days. I hope you have some good days. I hope you can still be inspired. I am glad you’re still here, reading me. Thanks for that.
