Help me take over the world!
Thu, Oct 16, 2008
Of course, I am going to have to take over the world one picture at a time, slowly, so as not to arouse too many suspicions. To do this, I need your help–in the form of a vote!
Over at Digital Photography School they are holding a contest. I thought to myself: Self?
Yes, self?
I could totally enter! What’s there to lose?
Self?
Yes, Self?
Brilliant! Yes!
And so, I entered the Contest to Win a Camera, a point and shoot, or a kick ass camera bag.
The name of the game is “Portraits.” Anyone can enter for a chance to win either a Canon XSi or a Nikon D60 as first prize. Second prize is a Canon Powershoot, third prize is a Crumpler camera bag.
And I’ve entered a portrait of Flora into the mix of things. The contest ends on October 31st, and I am asking you pretty please if you would be so kind as to vote for me there. You do have to have an account with photrade to vote, but signing up is free and exceptionally easy!
While a second camera would be divine and probably make me wet my pants with glee and then do a little chicken dance of triumph that would help people question my sanity even more… I desperately need a new camera bag and would love to have the one advertised as award for third place!
You can vote for me and Flora here:
Thank you for those of you dropping by just to read this, I appreciate the time and effort. And if you voted and don’t mind? Let me know that you did–I’ll do a little something for you by making a Thank You post after October 31st, linking to all blogs of those who commented they voted ! Free links again for all who vote! ♥

I will only vote if you promise to show the video of you doing the quoted excerpt. “wet my pants with glee and then do a little chicken dance of triumph”

…A compromise then?
I will show a video of me doing the happy chicken dance of triumph, with glee, should I win, of course.

Voted for you too. By the way, you did take the photo yourself, didn’t you? That’s a real awesome piece of shot. Impressed!

Heya Yan!
Thank you so very much, and yes I did! It is 100% taken by me. I think you can actually see it (if I remembered to upload it) in my NextGen gallery here on 2phatgeeks via the Photography link at the top!
I’m tickled pink by the compliment, double thanks!

It’s my pleasure. It’s always been my subject of interest but never got around putting it into practice. You are awesome, is it your profession?
I think I miss the gallery here so let’s see what other amazing shots you have…

It isn’t my profession, it’s actually just something I picked up a few years ago.
It all started when I grew frustrated with the quality of pictures from a point-and-shoot Kodak digital camera we had. My husband saved up and bought a FUJIFilm camera which was a big step up from a point-and-shoot.
From there, I set my eyes longingly on a Canon and finally got one this year. I’ve sort of steam rolled it from a hobby to a small obsession :) Though I think I’ve a long ways to go before calling it a profession yet!
