So there I was, lingering over the fence with my toes dangling toward Word Press 2.7. I thought–naw, I’ll wait until 2.7.0.1.1.0.1 is released with security updates and design changes. And lo, I did eye the articles and listen to the squeeing of many Word Press owners who took the brave new plunge before me. In fact, one of the Word Press owners actually called me to squee about the new changes today–Hi Rulihe!–and that pushed me off the fence finally.
I was worried about template growing pains and glitches but I took a deep breath and hit the upgrade not moments ago.
I’m sure for most of you I don’t need to get too in depth about the changes; they’re all over the place and anyone on the ball with Word Press has done a feature with shiny images and happy good time diagrams detailing the rock-awesomeness that is this release.
I thought I’d just join in with all the happy face melting over Word Press 2.7. It is a kick ass improvement which has nearly made me tingly in my bloging places. So to say that I’m okay with the changes and the update went smoothly might be redundant at this point. What about you, though? Have you updated yet? What do you think of the new dashboard and posting pages?

I too welcome the new 2.7..It’s a bit nicer and things are slightly easier to find. Although I don’t like the quickpress as much; I want to be able to select my categories as well! I still use the Press this bookmarklet often.
I love your site! I found you on dA when you bookmarked my stamp- I’ll bookmark ya :)
Hello Lizzeh! First, welcome to 2phatgeeks and thanks very much for the comment.
Now, as for most of the features for 2.7 they’ve really tidied the place up and made it a version of wordpress I’m really enjoying using. You’re right about the categories and there are a few more areas they need to tweak (I hear they’re working on it with the newer versions already) and I am sure they’ll fiddle with those shortly. :)
