$100 dollars buys a lot of Ramen Noodles.

I’m not getting paid for this, folks. This is honest to goodness opinion.

As I was mentioning in an earlier post today, I won the chance to be reviewed by both The University Kid and The WWW Observer.

Admittedly, being the n00blet in the field of self-hosted blogs, I hadn’t “met” The WWW Observer yet. I hadn’t had the chance to sit down and read some very sound advice on how to turn your blog into a decent source of extra income and still offer quality content.

Surprisingly enough, The WWW Observer is giving away $100. Sure, for some big wigs in the field, that’s not a lot of cash. Hell, that can be a single review of an advertising spot on some to-do blogs out there. For the rest of us who are wondering what part of their soul they’re going to have to sell to make ends meet, an extra $100 goes a long way. This is quite a generous give away, and all that’s asked of you in return is blog about the contest, link back to the post and try out a subscription.

Why should you subscribe? The WWW Observer’s got some sane, solid advice. It’s well written and it’s not chalk full of tech jargon that you can’t understand, or leaves you feeling like you’re being spoken down to. There are also several clear, concise articles on how to monetize your blog or how to earn a little cash on the side–so many excellent reasons to subscribe right there.

At any rate, I highly recommend a visit. If you do, say hello and tell them elf_fu sentcha.

Brain, from madeupemail@something.com commented on my Boobs and Cake post to let me know that:

you’re a fucking whore.

Obviously, Brian, I am. I’m a cake whore, I admit it. All that triple fudge super moist cake has to do is look at me twice and that’s it–I’ll do anything for it. I’m not ashamed, Brian. The cake? He treats me well.

Obviously, Brian, I had to hide your comment. It was beyond precious to me and I just want to keep it as a private little reminder of us connecting. Thanks so much for that!

But, do I sense a touch of bitter jealousy? Do you not have cake or boobs in your life? Don’t be envious, Brian! Why, someday with your charming repartee and zany internet quips (such as your delightful and meaningful comments!) you’ll no doubt seduce a set of boobs on your own.

Maybe she’ll even make you a cake.

We are full of Win?

It is a historical day of win and sweetness, here at 2phatgeeks.

Some of you may remember that I blogged about The University Kid’s absolute massive contest all about blogs, for blogs and to blogs.

We entered, because who in their real mind wouldn’t want to and the contest was the sort to trickle along toward epic proportions. Jason certainly didn’t disappoint.

We won the chance to be reviewed by both Jason, and another by the The WWW Observer! I’m a little worried since the content of my blogs are mostly personal with a dash of crazy sprinkled with love–but I’m also very grateful!

Speaking of epic proportions and contests, Blog Oh! Blog was running a contest to give the readers a chance at a premium WordPress theme: Trueblogger. We won! Talk about today being a surprising morning, I didn’t expect any of these.

So thank you, very much, University Kid and Blog Oh! Blog!

You guys are definitely missing out if you aren’t subscribed or reading any of these great blogs. Go forth, my minions, and spread the geek love!
